Kitchen Wishes at Pitti Bimbo: balloons and floating delights!
Food That Flies!
The main invention?
Vegetable chips and popcorn suspended in the air by helium balloons, floating perfectly at arm’s reach — and believe us, finding the exact point of suspension was no easy task!
At the end of the show, the stand turned into a thick, colorful forest of balloons — like a child’s dream come true — drifting in through the main entrance, gliding through the crowd, and parading down the runway.
Dancing balloons carrying delicious snacks.
Color, color, color everywhere!
And of course, that wasn’t all:
Our finger food was served on wooden boards painted in the colors of the flag — like palettes on which to paint edible art.
Flag Finger Food
Orange: red lentil hummus with orange zest and carrot confetti
Green: broccoli and almond mousse with pea sprouts
Red: sun-dried tomato pâté with confit cherry tomatoes and crispy chili
Blue: robiola cheese bonbons with cornflower petals
Yellow: turmeric bread with curried celery-root mousse and endive
Each color had its own drink, served in tall white tumblers — our Flag Spritz:
Orange: Aperol
Green: Mint
Red: Campari
Blue: Curaçao
And for non-drinkers, two alcohol-free options completed the flag’s palette:
Yellow: Citron soda
White: Coconut
Flag Desserts
The Benetton colors didn’t stop at dessert —
we ended our rainbow-themed catering with colorful, glazed cookies to sweeten the finale.
Becoming Children Again
The spirit of childhood blows strong in our minds — you know it by now (sometimes enough to mess up our hair…).
That’s why we were so happy to play — seriously, as only children can — with our favorite toys: food, color, balloons, and imagination.
We’re sure that, for a moment at least, everyone at the event took a small trip back in time —
remembering when a simple, colorful balloon was all it took to be happy.
