It\u2019s\u2026 a canap\u00e9.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the world of <\/span><b>Kitchen Wishes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, not only birds and airplanes take flight \u2014 pretty much everything does.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Especially canap\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They\u2019re aerodynamic, elegant, streamlined \u2014 perfect for gliding through the sky.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfortunately, gravity doesn\u2019t help much.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So\u2026 how do we make them fly?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once again, we call upon our personal dance troupe \u2014 our <\/span><b>waitresses \/ dancers \/ performers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One armed with a pastry bag filled with sauce, the other ready with the bread.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Together, they create the canap\u00e9 right in front of the guest\u2019s mouth \u2014 who, with childlike trust, must let these two dancing strangers feed them.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You might wonder: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">what\u2019s the point?<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wouldn\u2019t it be better to receive the canap\u00e9 the traditional way \u2014 beautifully plated on a silver tray, ready to eat?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the classic setup, an elegant, composed waitress presents the canap\u00e9:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">toasted bread with eggplant mousse, confit tomatoes, and caper blossoms.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Result:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the guest takes the canap\u00e9.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our version has the same happy ending \u2014 but through a very different path.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One waitress carries the pastry bag filled with eggplant sauce, capers, and cherry tomatoes.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The other has a crate of toasted bread.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They approach the guest, bow gracefully \u2014 one offers the bread, the other pours the sauce.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The guest closes their eyes, surrenders, and is gently fed.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So\u2026 what\u2019s changed?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The difference is small \u2014 yet essential: the tasting comes <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">after<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a tiny creative ritual.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the guest\u2019s perspective, watching it come to life before their eyes \u2014 trusting, being fed \u2014 adds layers of meaning to a simple bite.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Little rituals that elevate the destination (as all good rituals do\u2026).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A canap\u00e9 can be served on a tray or while jumping rope, with a courtly bow or upside down \u2014 it will always be a canap\u00e9, but its <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">meaning<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> changes. It engages other parts of the mind.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And if you think it\u2019s better to pick it off a tray, untouched by our peculiar choreography \u2014 well, a flying canap\u00e9 won\u2019t convince you otherwise.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But we still believe it\u2019s wonderful to be fed \u2014 how often does that happen after infancy?<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s thrilling to watch something you\u2019re about to eat come to life, and we swear a flying canap\u00e9 tastes better than a static one.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We were children once \u2014 a large hand held out the spoon, and a voice told a little story:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cPretty square, pretty square, where the crazy hare lives\u2026\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Or: \u201cHere comes a ship full of\u2026\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Or maybe: \u201cFly, fly, fly\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The goal was always the same \u2014 to feed us, turning mealtime into play.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flying Canap\u00e9<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tries to take you back to that magical place, long lost in time \u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where Santa Claus is a certainty, UFOs are your travel companions,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and there\u2019s a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Try it yourself \u2014 feed each other, get messy with sauce.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be children again, just for a while.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hogwarts is real, and enrollment is open.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Befana still flies at night in her broken shoes.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And yes \u2014 even a canap\u00e9 can fly.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the end, that\u2019s really all there is to it.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unidentified Flying Objects: la tartina volante \u00c8 un uccello? \u00c8 un aereo?
